Fic: The One Rings's Diary - Ash Nazg Challenge
Author: Lbilover
Title: The One Rings’s Diary
Challenge: Hobbit Smut “Ash Nazg” Challenge
Word Count: 3104
Rating: PG
Pairings: Frodo/Sam
Warnings: Slash, AU (duh)
Summary: The One Ring keeps a diary
A/N: Totally based on movie verse, and pretty much covers about the first half-hour of Fellowship, at that. With apologies to Helen Fielding whose ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ was the, um, inspiration for this madness. I sincerely hope she never reads this.

Aw, I'm so glad you enjoyed the story!! And especially that the end caught you by surprise. It kind of cut the movies short, didn't it, but all in a good cause- saving Frodo's perfect complexion :D

ROTFLMAO! and I don't think I've ever used that before!

I am so glad the poor Ring finally got its sparkly, a very small price to pay, I think, for putting up with Gollum and the carp and Bilbo's poetry.

And what a cunning Sam, to find a way to the Ring's good side. A Ring, I might add, of Excellent Taste and Discernment.

What a delight!

Thank you :) I am v. glad it made you laugh. Yes, the Ring definitely earned that sparkly jewel, LOL!

Between you and Willow-wode I will be laughing for a v. v. long time! LOL! (I had no idea that Cassie Claire took her idea from Bridget Jones' as well! Now I know.) This is wonderful! Too many great quotes to even attempt to list the favorites.

And you manage to give everyone the happy ending they were craving, of course, and with Frodo/Sam, of course. Heee.

I am delighted that you found a way to make us laugh in the middle of some very serious stories! (Not that your story wasn't serious -- seriously funneh!)

Thanks so much for participating in the challenge!

Thank you so much, Elanor. I don't think I'd be any good at writing dark fic, so I went off in a totally different direction :) I'm very happy this made you laugh!! Bridget Jones has been a favorite character of mine for a long time and it was fun to write something in her inimitable style.

Oh god, this had me laughing out loud. Brilliant concept. And I love that the ring spurns Sauron in the end for Frodo! Really very well done.

Thank you! It's so lovely of you to read and comment. :)

Well, if I were the One Ring, Sauron would be no competition for Frodo, that's for sure. *g* I had such a blast writing this fic, it was really a joy. Bridget Jones's Diary is one of my favorite books, and always makes me laugh.

Thank you again!

This is the funniest thing I've read in ages! I discovered it from a LOTR rec site and have further recommended it. Brilliantly done!!!

Oh, thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Would you mind me asking at what site you found the rec? I'm just curious (and glad it brought you here to read!)

Thanks again! :D

Sure. It's a bit of a tangle but here goes. Where I found the fic reccommendation was here specifically... http://community.livejournal.com/lotr_fic_recs/94331.html
listed under rare/unusual POV (someone else rec'd it you see ...?)
I got the link to lotr_fic_recs from was here, another LJ community called lotrips_finders http://community.livejournal.com/lotrips_finders/783849.html?nc=20

Readers looking for specific pairings, certain genres, and hard to find stories go there for help. I saw the site for rec'd fics posted and wondered what they had there. That's how I found your story.

I've suggested it to a couple of friends too. It really was side-splittingly funny.

I thank YOU for taking time to reply back. So many LOTR stories are flock'd these days or simply deleted and purged. And so many sites are just unmonitored archives now. It's nice to see folks still active. Hope this convoluted response satisfies your curiosity. :D
Sorry it's so long winded.
